You wouldn't know it by the weather here in Michigan, but it's actually Spring! :) So, to kick off t-shirt season, we're introducing our first new release of 2018, and the resounding winner of our SVP 2017 vote: Smilodon! The most famous saber-toothed cat, Smilodon was a prehistoric mammal that sported immense upper canines and terrorized the American landscape during the Quaternary. While it took us much longer than expected to bring our Smilodon to life, we hope you'll agree that it was well worth the wait!
About Our Smilodon
We based the coloration of our Smilodon fatalis upon the modern-day Clouded Leopard. Our choice was inspired by the fact that Clouded Leopards hold the record for the longest fangs, relative to body mass, of any modern cat - making them the "saber-tooths" ("saber-teeth?" Haha) of our time!
While often referred to as the saber-toothed tiger, Smilodon actually was no more closely related to tigers than to other extant cat species. It had an incredibly robust build, making it capable of tackling prey several times its size, including giant bison, camels, and glyptodonts (prehistoric armadillo relatives).

We're looking forward to introducing many new creatures in the months ahead! With Smilodon marking the thirteenth in our lineup, though, we've realized that we're in a bit of a quandary: each of our Fossil Fusion T-Shirts comes in at least six different sizes, and many come in two different colors. So, we've done the math, and that comes out to precisely a gazillion different SKUs! Haha We've decided that rather than renting out the nearest sports stadium to house our inventory, we'll have to take a slightly different approach:
All of our Fossil Fusion Tees are now limited-edition releases! On average, we'll plan on producing up to 250 t-shirts of each creature, divided amongst the various sizes and colors. This approach should allow us to continue crafting new creatures, while also making any t-shirt you buy from us that much more special - since you may be one of only a handful in the world to own it!
